Nameera Islam

Health Policy & Advocacy

Nameera Islam is a PhD student in Economics at the University of Alabama, beginning her studies in August 2024. She holds a Master’s in Policy Economics and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Environmental Studies from Tulane University. Her research interests include health economics, maternal health, and environmental policy. Nameera has served as an Administrative Program Director at Tulane’s School of Public Health and interned at the BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health in Bangladesh. She is also actively involved in community education and youth engagement through volunteer roles at Darul Arqam and the Jefferson Muslim Association.
