Dr. Linda Humaidan-Zayed (MPH, PhD in Public Health) is currently a Sr. Research Specialist at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine (UICCOM), Center for Global Health (CGH). Her prior work experience has focused on the social sciences which include: community engagement and advocacy, public health education, and health equity and prevention. Her current research interests lie in gender-based violence related to the Arab/Muslim population. She also is an editorial board member for a nonprofit organization that promotes post-secondary education to provide people with better opportunities. She is a coach, mentor, and Mental Health First Aid instructor. Dr. Humaidan-Zayed hopes to continue to research and educate communities about stigmatized issues, including tackling the stigmatization of mental health within Arab and Muslim communities.
