Unconditional Care Directory & Resources

Community-Based Healthcare Solutions

Across the United States, Muslims have opened free medical clinics to treat uninsured and low-income patients of all backgrounds. Until now, no study had ever measured the combined impact of Muslim-run free clinics; no directory had put their contact information together in one place.

AMHP in collaboration with GloWo Media and researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Boston University School of Medicine, is proud to launch the first comprehensive national directory, the national impact report, and the documentary film giving personal dimension to this national movement.

National Impact Report

In 2018, nearly 50,000 uninsured Americans received care from a Muslim-run free clinic according to a report by Dr. Lance Laird, Boston University School of Medicine and Nabil Khan, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The report found that in 2018, 70 clinics in 22 states offered primarily non-Muslim patients free services worth tens of millions of dollars.

Unconditional Care

Unconditional Care, the powerful documentary released in conjunction with the clinic directory and national impact report, gives a personal dimension to a national movement. It features the stories of volunteer healthcare providers and low-income patients at the Muslim American Social Services Clinic (MASS) in Jacksonville, Florida. The 30-minute film shows the impact a group of passionate first- and second-generation Muslim Americans are making in a city where over 100,000 adults are uninsured. Through interfaith collaboration and service, they’re saving lives—and public dollars—while exemplifying the values of Islam.
